The Twilight Saga's Kristen Stewart probably wishes she had stuck with her mom Jules movie 'K-11' rather than abandoning it for Rupert Sanders Snow White and the Huntsman. She was originally set to star in the film, but she quickly jumped ship when a bigger Hollywood film came her way. From the look of the trailer 'K-11' did better without her wooden skills. This one feels like a darker version of Ticked Off Trannies With Knives.
K-11 has a pretty cool concept with Goran Visnjic playing a straight guy who lands in area reserved for LGB and transexuals. Yup it sounds like a Falcon Studios plot for one of their movies, but Visnjic plays the role perfectly. He's the outsider who's not used to being this much on the outside and sees what it's like when a jail cell is run by a malicious transexual inmate. In many hands, this film could have turned into a big ole mess, but Jules Stewart deftly handles this subject matter surprisingly well. I'm actually glad daughter Kristen abandoned mom for the Hollywood money and controversy as she wouldn't have added anything to this film and Kate Del Castillo plays the role of Mousey for all it's worth.
Breaking Glass Pictures picked this one up, and it's a definitely great match for their library which also includes Ticked Off Trannies With Knives. Oddly, Willam Belli (RuPaul's Drag Race controversial kicked off queen) wasn't cast in this film which he would have been perfect for.
K-11 isn't great, but it's definitely worth checking out. Visnjic adds a lot to the film along with Castillo.
