Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana told the press that J.J. Abrams was beside himself that 'Star Trek 2' images leaked out last week from the movie set, but yet this video showing the action sequence seems to be okay to be 'leaked' out.
Normally when a studio gets upset over leaked images, they'll put out the dogs and have them taken down from every site that posts them like 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' did, but when those images leaked out last week for 'Star Trek 2', nothing. Sure, the actors said how upset director Abrams was, but we didn't hear a word from them to pull those images and no one else did either. Then it turns out that someone was videotaping the sequence and now it's been 'leaked' out, but no ones forcing it to be pulled. It seems more like a cool way to generate some publicity while all the other big movies are doing it.
Yeah, I know it sounds cynical, but after awhile it's easy to spot a publicity stunt. There's no way, images and video would get leaked out from a movie under the control of J.J. Abrams and one that big. So at least now you can enjoy seeing those images in action and watching Zachary Quinto's step in while he gets to each a sandwich on the sidelines. Benedict Cumberbatch definitely has no problem jumping in on those action scenes either.
The voiceover on the video is a little annoying, but just turn the volume down and enjoy watching the action. I'm sure the studio and Abrams know you'll be happy with what you see. Even with only seeing the green screen, it looks like Cumberbatch will make for a great villain.
