'Paranormal Activity 3' will be back this Halloween, and this one looks to be a prequel to last year's semi-prequel to 'Paranormal Activity'. We can rejoice that there won't be a new 'Saw' movie this time though.
Some may like to mock the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise, but I was pretty impressed that the last on 'Paranormal Activity 2' held up really well for a sequel with a different director. There's something about the little chills and spine tingling that keeps me wanting to watch this film more than once. I think that most of us have felt those little oddities when left alone in the house or apartment sometimes, and 'Paranormal' capitalized on bringing all those memories flooding back.
In an interesting turn, Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, those guys behind 'Catfish' are helming this installment. Whereas 'Paranormal Activity 2' was a prequel to 'Paranormal Activity', 'Paranormal Activity 3' is a prequel to all of them and takes us all the way back to 1988. Can't wait to see what music they put on this soundtrack and hopefully Joost and Schulman won't get sued from a musician on this film like they did with 'Catfish'. It'll be interesting to see how they drag around a large camera since back then we weren't lucky enough to have the handheld's that exist today.
Unlike most franchises which keep moving things forward in time, 'Paranormal Activity' keeps pushing the clock back and further back so maybe when we get to PA 10, we'll have Laura and Charles Ingalls fighting off the demons to maybe get Mary's sight back.
So check out the trailer below, and it looks as promising as all the other Paranormal Activity films.
