Michelle Visage is easily everyone's favorite judge after RuPaul Charles on RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race, and she's back talking to us this season about the premiere episode and what's coming up on the show that has more twists than Mitt Romney's opinions. Check out every queens best friend below and what she thought of Mimi Imfurst and Pandora Boxx's exit.
For last season's RuPaul's Drag Race we interviewed the very vibrant and brassy Michelle Visage and talked about her entertainment past so this time we got to discuss the premiere episode of RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race and its surprising twist along with last season's winner Sharon Needles along with all the balls this busy lady has juggling.
What I personally love about her is that she's not afraid to answer a question directly or try to be PC so it's always fun to throw in those fun questions as you can see below. Hopefully we'll be able to have another interview before the season finale with the lady to get her further opinion on how the season progresses. We've also reached out to Manila Luzon since so many of you keep asking, but with everything she's been through in the past month, I'm going to not push it as she deserves some space.
Best Movies Ever: Was there any worry having RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race premiering up against the third presidential debate between Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama?
MICHELLE VISAGE: WHAT DEBATE?! honestly, in this day and age that shit doesn't matter, we've got DVR's, everyone could go back and watch the debate after watching their favorite show, RuPaul's All Stars Drag Race!
BME: What were your thoughts when you learned about the pairing up into teams twist?
MV: Interesting.....seriously, that's what I thought. I couldn't wait to hear what they thought about it. I just thought it would be a great twist on an already proven format that would test the queens to their limits. Would they be smart? Or selfish?
BME: Since your personality is rather larger than life, has this been any talk of a reality show for you?
BME: Were there any queens that you felt should have been included that weren’t in the All Star Edition?
MV: Quite a few: Willam, Morgan McMichaels and Phi Phi to name a few but lots more as they are truly ALL stars.
BME: Did any of the queens lose that magic luster they had in their season?
BME: Sharon Needles has gotten the most controversy of any of the RuPaul’s Drag Race winners. It must have done you proud that she stuck to her guns, especially when being bullied to apologize for something she had no reason to. Were you able to reach out to her when she was under attack in Atlanta?
MV: I've been in touch with Sharon since the show ended. Sharon isn't dumb, don't let the dead exterior fool you. She knows what she is doing but sometimes her passion takes over and that can be misconstrued.
BME: Mimi Imfurst came on obviously trying to make up for her Season 3 escapades. Did you feel for her when she pretty much reverted back to her old self?
MV: I don't think she reverted back to anything. I don't think people give Mimi enough credit. It's a shame the audience doesn't get to see all the shit that Mimi handles in her day-to-day. She runs, coordinates and performs in shows almost every night of the week and they are top notch shows, not some jukebox hero, one-song-and-call-it-a-night rodeos. She is also a singer in a girl group (Xellemusic.com) and an all around great person, but we didn't get a chance to see all of that. I was actually appalled at how she was treated by some of the other queens in Untucked. It was wrong and she was targeted. Bullying amongst brethren ain't cute.
BME: Were you surprised that Pandora Boxx had Mimi go up against Chad Michaels in the ‘Lip Sync For Your Life’? Watching the show, it seemed like Pandora had pretty much given up and didn’t even use the Magic Red button to jump in and salvage the team. Since you had the bird’s eye view, are you able to give your perspective?
MV: I think you are spot on with that one. I was extremely disappointed in Pandora when I saw the show. I was there, but remember, I don't see anything except what is on the Main Stage. If Pandora wasn't happy with Mimi's lip sync, why not buzz in? Don't blame someone for your demise when you didn't do everything in your power to try and change it! Still loves me some Pandora Boxx though, and she looked the most beautiful (face and hair-wise) that I had ever seen her look that night. Someone had to go first, right?
BME: Are you all hoping to have enough seasons on Logo where you can have one with all the Drag Race winners competing for Queen Of the World?
BME: Since this season started with some crazy twists, can we expect more even though there’ll be fewer episodes than normal?
BME: Here at Best Movies Ever, we feel that Tyra Banks could learn a few lessons from you all since her American’s Next Top Model appears to have gone off the rails. Do you have any comments on that or just feel we’re right?
MV: I'm not sure I agree with that since she's going into Season 20!
EDITOR'S NOTE: Originally Tyra Banks said she started America's Next Top Model to give struggling young women a valid shot at entering the world of modelling, but as ratings have tumbled dramatically for the show and this season is an unqualified mess, Season 20 is now featuring male models. That's what we meant that the show has gone off the rails as many longtime fans (myself included) of the show have realized. Quantity doesn't always make things better.
MV: YES! I want everyone to log on to NewNowNext.com every Tuesday 9AM PST/NOON EST for the Elimination Lunch with me and the discharged queens from the night before. You all get to talk directly with the queens and talk about what happened to them on RuPaul's All Star Drag Race the night before and about whatever else your heart fancies! You can join us with a webcam (the queens love that option) or just join the chat room and I will answer your questions live! I am also a blogger on the WOW Report (www.worldofwonder.net) and beginning Halloween, I will pop my UK cherry as a monthly columnist for the Gay Times (www.gaytimes.co.uk) and of course, michellevisage.com and @michellevisage on twitter!
