Daniel Day-Lewis' 'Lincoln' Shocking Twist Ending Revealed
Ever since Spielberg's Abraham Lincoln biopic premiered, word has been that it has totally changed the Academy Award nomination landscape, and everyone's been talking about that shocking ending that turned the entire film on it's head. Spielberg specifically asked everyone in the audience not to reveal the surprise twist, but our friends at Hollywood Leak couldn't resist leaking.
Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, starring Daniel Day Lewis as the title character, is a film about a mid-1800s United States Senator-turned-president who goes around and does a bunch of political things, like arguing with other people and stuff and also has a wife he probably loves.
Yes, it sounds boring, and it is, but don’t get up and leave in the middle of it like I almost did, because WOW! Does this film have a surprise ending I’m just dying to tell you about (don’t worry, I won’t ruin it).
Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, starring Daniel Day Lewis, is a film about a mid-1800s United States Senator-turned-president with a BIG surprise ending.
Finally, Spielberg can be mentioned in the same breath of the consistently brilliant director M. Night Shyamalan, because this movie has a twist ending you won’t see coming a mile away.
For much of the film, Lincolnspends a lot of his time yapping away about the importance of the union or some such nonsense, but it’s all worth it, because you will simply not believe what happens.
Without giving too much away, I’ll just mention that at some point the President attends a play. What did he think of it? Oh, I don’t know, but it wouldn’t be incorrect to assume he thought it was mind-blowing.
How about the performers? No spoilers here, but let’s just say that there’s a character in said play named John W. Booth who’s a real straight shooter.
Simply put (but, I repeat no spoilers!) you can tell our nation’s 16th president thinks this play is a realblast, a bit of a head-turner, and more than a little brainy.
“While it slays me to keep it to myself, if I revealed the killer twist ending my readers would assassinate me…”
You know what, fuck it, I’ll just tell you, Lincoln’s head gets shot off, OK? Just deal with it.
