Marvel Studios continues filming in Atlanta for Spider-Man: Homecoming and a new set video posted by director Jon Watts shows a spooky shadow lurking behind Tom Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man. In the video, Holland calmly sits out of costume while a mysterious shadow dances behind him on the green screen marked with red tape.
While Michael Keaton takes on the villainous role as Vulture in the film, it’s not confirmed whether the Oscar-winner is the man behind the shadow. The shadow could just as easily be Holland as Spider-Man, the director, a stunt coordinator or anyone else on set for that matter.
Holland showed off his spidey reflexes in an Instagram video while practicing a Spider-Man: Homecoming stunt. In the caption of the video, Holland challenges Chris Hemsworth and his Thor: Ragnarok stuntman, Bobby Holland Hanton, to “beat that.”
Holland’s video appears to be in response to a hilarious video posted last month of Hemsworth’s Thor stunt training, which showed he had a lot to learn. Marvel fans can expect to see another comedic Hemsworth stunt video as Thor: Ragnarok filming continues in Australia. Hemsworth’s stuntman responded to Holland’s video saying “challenge is on,” and “let’s do this.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming, which also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, opens in theaters on July 7, 2017 following the releases of Doctor Strange on November 4 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on May 5, 2017. Thor: Ragnarok, which will also feature appearances by Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, debuts on November 3, 2017.
